Is a yellow tail in a ferret a symptom of some disease, like cancer?

A week before my ferret’s passed my friend’s ferret passed as well. I saw a picture of my friend’s ferret and he had the same odd yellow colored tail. Is there any correlation between a ferret having a discolored tail and maybe a disease like cancer?
