What could blood in urine but no bacteria indicate during pregnancy?
I am 28 weeks pregnant and developed abdominal and lower back cramping a few days ago. I had not experienced this before so I called my doctor and was advised to go to labor and delivery. They tested my urine and it showed blood so they did an in and out catheter. The lab results showed blood but no bacteria in the urine. They just sent me home and told me to drink lots of water. Any ideas what this could indicate?
Sounds like an infection to me, maybe a bladder infection.
Definitely go see the doctor though.
It sounds like a kidney stone. I had those when I was pregnant with my first child. It will probably help to lay on your left side when you lay down. It allows your kidneys to function properly. Do not drink any tea, sodas, or coffee for a while, if you drink those things. You should cut back on your milk for a bit too. Another thing that will help is to at some asparagus.
