Blitzsafe HON/M-Link1 V.2X Honda/Acura iPod Interface

I purchased this product for use in a 2005 Honda Odyssey. With information easily found online – installation was straight forward and easy. The Blitzsafe works great and delivers excellent sound quality through the factory head unit. I would recommend this interface to anyone who simply wants to charge and listen to an ipod without replacing the factory radio.

I just installed the above iPod adapter into my 2007 S2000. Not much to tell as far as a review, but I thought it might help others who are looking for a cheap way to connect and charge their iPod. The device plugs into the cd changer port in the back of the stock head unit. As the factory head unit just sees the iPod as a cd changer, all controls are done from the iPod itself. Since you aren’t modifying the factory harness or cd player the dash controls for volume, mute, etc all remain functional. Upon turning the vehicle off and removing the key from the ignition the iPod is automatically paused, but continues to be charged for 20 minutes. Sound quality is great, and there aren’t any ground-loop issues due to it being on the same power/ground as the factory headunit. While it wont charge the new nano or the 3G iPhone, you can buy an updated cable from Blitzsafe that will charge these newer iPods.

This is a great product for a do-it-yourself iPod install. It charges my 3rd generation iPod (also called 3G back in the day), but it doesn’t charge the 3G iPhone. Apparently none of the other adapters do either. Audio quality is very good, especially when compared to FM transmitters.
