Samson Go Mic Compact USB Microphone – Plug n’ Play
I recently purchased this mobile microphone in hopes it would provide me with a good, portable way to use voice recognition software on my laptop computer. I use both Mac Speech Dictate and Dragon NaturallySpeaking on my MacBook Pro. I get excellent quality out of my Olympus ME31, Samson Airliner 77 as well as a couple of other wired microphones. They are usually both 96 to 98% accurate. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for this USB microphone. At best, you get around 80% accuracy — simply not good enough to use with voice dictation software. I’ve also tried Blue Snowflake USB microphone and it is just as bad. At this point, the only real good portable solution would be the more expensive Olympus ME31 along with a small USB adapter.

Mic worked right out of the box with my windows 7 with no problems. I use it for recording classical guitar and it is doing a fine job.

I am the CEO of company (6 million in sales)and I have a winter office in florida. Thus I need to spend time on the phone and doing webinar connections. This product enhances my skype calls and allows me to tape the conversations and get great quality. Very impressive. I can also take it on the road is a size smaller than a pack of cards. This microphone is great everyday solution. I used it with my MacBook and with my Ubuntu-powered desktop workstation. Both ways it works flawlessly.
I like it travel case, the way I hold it in my hand or the way it can be attached. Clip is not so big, to attach a mic to a standart office display, but it holds on my laptop display fine.
It is not very noisy, even less noisy than I’ve expected. Travel case is really sexy, so it is not a problem for me to hold it with me every day I go somewhere. Podcasting from a cafe or a restaurant is fun.

The Quality of this mic is great! This is a great mic for on the serious traveling. I highly recommend it for multi-purpose use. I would recommend this to anyone that needs a great mic. My friends already ordered theirs.
